Motor racing-Bourdais tells Massa to open his eyes
FUJI, Japan, Oct 12 (Reuters) – Formula One rookie Sebastien Bourdais accused Ferrari’s Felipe Massa of careless driving after colliding with the Brazilian at Sunday’s Japanese Grand Prix.
The Toro Rosso driver was penalised after touching wheels with Massa, causing him to spin, and after the race was handed a 25-second penalty dropping the Frenchman from sixth to 10th.
Massa, who had himself been given a drive-through penalty during the race for shunting McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton on lap two, was promoted from eighth to seventh as a result.
“I did everything I could not to run into him,” complained Bourdais. “He just squeezed and turned and behaved like I didn’t exist, like I wasn’t there. What am I supposed to do?”
Bourdais and Massa brushed each other as the Toro Rosso emerged from the pits on lap 51. The Brazilian tried to overtake on the outside only to spin after the cars made contact.
Bourdais was furious that race stewards blamed him instead of Massa, who is now just five points behind Hamilton in the world championship with two races left.
“For me it’s very clear. Yes, I exit the pits, yes I’m supposed to be careful and I was,” he said. “I stayed inside and I didn’t push him out, I didn’t overshoot the corner.
“It’s just a little bit of respect. You give each other room and then everything goes right but if you don’t, there’s going to be an incident.”
Amitabh Bachchan’s tests are normal, will go home soon, says doctor
Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan’s test-results are normal and he will be released soon, says doctor.
“Mr. Amitabh Bachchan had a restful night at Lilavati Hospital. The doctors attending on him are pleased with his recovery. The tests do not suggest any abnormality… under the circumstances, medicines have worked. Within few days he will go home,” doctor Narendra Trivedi, VP, Lilavati Hospital, said in a statement here Sunday.
Bachchan, who was in the midst of his 66th birthday celebrations at his bungalow Pratiksha in Juhu, was rushed to the Nanavati Hospital early Saturday afternoon after complaining of abdominal pain and breathlessness.
He was then shifted to the Lilavati Hospital where he continued to be under observation. Bachchan was being treated in suite number 1101 on the 11th floor of the hospital.
The megastar had undergone blood investigation and CT of the abdomen.
His wife Jaya, daughter Shweta Nanda, son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya were attending on the senior Bachchan in the hospital.
Other than close family friends Reliance ADAG head Anil Ambani and Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh, Priya Dutt and Tinu Anand were among the large number of people who visited the hospital to enquire after Bachchan’s health.
Hrithik Roshan’s miraculous recovery
Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan has hurt his knees once again, this time while doing a dangerous car stunt for home production Kites in Las Vegas. Though doctors advised him eight weeks rest, the brawny actor was about and running just three days after the accident.
“I hurt myself while jumping from a car. It looked really bad. The doctor said my knee would require eight weeks of healing. He said I’d be limping on crutches for at least two weeks,” Hrithik said.
A source said: “All hell broke loose and there was panic. Hrithik was in considerable pain and unable to move. And since there was just a few days’ shooting left director Anurag Basu wondered what to do.”
The accident would have put Kites and Hrithik’s career behind with damaging consequences. In fact, papa Rakesh Roshan was adamant that they’d rather wrap up and lose out on the schedule than risk Hrithik’s knee further.
But three days after the injury Hrithik had a miraculous recovery. “I don’t know how it happened. On the third day after the accident I was running on my injured knee. So it’s all fine,” said Hrithik.
That’s what the adamant dancing-star says. But the recurring problem with his knee refuses to go away.
Hrithik’s knee trouble began when he did some daring stunts in Krrish and Dhoom 2. Hrithik had torn the ligament in his right knee and continued working despite the tremendous pain. In fact, he completed the painstaking training, travelling and shooting required for Jodhaa-Akbar with a bad knee.
In December 2007, after wrapping up Jodhaa-Akbar, he went to Singapore for six weeks treatment.
Commenting upon his knee problem and the recent accident, the source said: “It’s a fact that Hrithik’s knee is a cause for great concern for him and for his entire family. The doctors told him that he would never dance again.
“After his second son was born (May 1), Hrithik went for surgery to the US and spent nearly two months recovering. He was determined to let it heal properly because Kites requires considerable athletic movement. Hrithik didn’t take one wrong step until he left to shoot Kites in the US.”
One hopes time would heal Hrithik completely, but it seems unlikely.

Actress Eva Mendes has revealed that she grew up seeing Calvin Klein ads and always wanted to follow in the footsteps of the designer brand’s models.
The Hitch star, who grabbed the opportunity to fulfill her teen dream by being the face of the designer’s new underwear
range, banked on believing that the chance would take her career to new heights.
Eva further said that she had long idolised Mark Wahlberg and supermodel Kate Moss – both of whom had shot to fame as Calvin Klein models. “I grew up on those ads,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying. She said, “When Kate Moss and Marky Mark – I mean my friend Mark Wahlberg came out with them, I was 15 years old. Me and my friends just went crazy. He was so gorgeous and still is, of course.”
The 34-year-old star’s promo video for the designer label had been deemed too provocative by various US channels with many refusing to air the footage.

Bon Jovi sued over lyrics
NEW YORK: Musician Samuel Bartley Steele has sued rocker Jon Bon Jovi for $400 billon claiming the singer borrowed lyrics from his baseball team Boston Red Sox anthem titled “Man I really love this team”.
Tmz.com reports that Samuel Bartley Steele was the lead singer of a band called The Chelsea City Council and claims Bon Jovi heard the song while campaigning for former US Democratic presidential candidate in Boston in 2004.
He adds that Bon Jovi then added the lyrics to his own song “I love this town.”
Bon Jovi’s representatives say they still have not seen the lawsuit.
Questions on Saif-Kareena are frustrating: Soha
NEW DELHI: Bollywood actress Soha Ali Khan doesn’t mind media attention, but asking her questions related to her brother Saif Ali Khan and his girlfriend Kareena Kapoor definitely rubs her the wrong way.
“It’s very frustrating when people ask me about them, but it doesn’t annoy me any more. I very calmly and politely ask the media not to ask about them (Saif and Kareena),” Soha said.
“Not because I don’t want to speak about my brother or Kareena, but because I don’t speak for them in case the media is not able to reach them. I don’t want to be their spokesperson. Also, these questions are often private and I’m not comfortable with that,” she said.
Soha had to face the media glare earlier when her gun licence was cancelled in May. She was also in the news for posing in a sexy, skimpy outfit for lifestyle magazine Maxim.
All that is past and Soha is now relaxed, free of controversies and is enjoying every bit of entering a new decade in life. Having turned 30 on Oct 4, Soha says that she still feels like she’s 16, though her responsibilities in life have increased.
“Honestly, in my heart and in my mind, I feel like I am 16, which is probably a bad thing. I need to grow up at some stage, but I am not ready to do it as yet.
“I have responsibilities now, I manage a house, I’m financially independent and have bought a new house in Mumbai – these are great things. I do feel like an adult in many ways, but when it comes to the real things, I’m very selfish and very much in the youngest child syndrome,” she said.
‘Indian fans will appreciate ‘Babylon A.D.’ stunts’
NEW DELHI: Hollywood actor Vin Diesel, known for performing his death-defying stunts himself, says he hasn’t yet come across stunts that are really dangerous. He, however, did enjoy jumping off a mountain on a snow-mobile in his latest film “Babylon A.D.” – which he hopes Indian fans will like.
“I haven’t faced a film role yet with potentially dangerous stunts. I hope I get to do them because when I do that kind of action, rather than relying on doubles, I believe there is some added integrity that I bring to the character,” Diesel said in an e-mail interview.
“For example, I loved doing all those jumps in ‘xXx’. I did all the stunt scenes by my own even though we had a stunt guy to cover for me. I want that authenticity,” he said.
Diesel’s latest film, sci-fi action thriller “Babylon A.D.”, released in India on Friday, almost two months after its release in the US, and the star thinks Indian film buffs will enjoy it immensely.
“It’s an action packed thriller and I think hard-core action fans in India are going to appreciate it,” he said.
So how different is “Babylon A.D.” from his earlier action flicks?
“Everything in the film is bigger than life – cars are airlifted by giant electric helicopters; warriors square off in vicious combat inside a ‘fight cage’; snowmobiles fly through the air while exchanging gunfire; missiles shoot through the streets.”
The actor had an adrenaline-pumping experience while performing a scene where he jumps off a mountain on a snowmobile.
“The snowmobile scene was my favourite. There is a group of guys we worked with called The Slednecks, (a snowmobile stunt team) and you see them doing jumps off mountains in Alaska. They were amazing. I was able to sneak off with the snowmobiles and did 20-foot jumps off the top of the mountains,” he said.
Britney, K-Fed exchanging raunchy texts
Britney Spears and Kevin Federline, who split after a bitter divorce last year, have been exchanging late-night steamy texts, it has emerged.
According to sources, Federline and Spears have had marathon phone sex sessions and traded steamy texts.
The singer’s ex-beau revealed to his friends that their calls got intimate and he felt like he was with a new girl all together, the source said.
“The calls got very steamy pretty quickly. It was like having a new girlfriend,” News of the World quoted Kevin as telling his buddies.
Fearing that they might prompt a massive scandal surrounding their rekindled spark, the couple have been keeping their revived interest to themselves.
A pal said: “It’s early days, but there is certainly still something between them. “It’s obviously rekindled that old desire between them.
“They’ve been talking dirty over the phone and about how much they’d loved each other and how it all went wrong. They now speak at least every other day and Brit makes excuses to call Kevin, saying it’s about the boys.”
“He thinks she is getting back to her old self. But they’re worried what it must look like after their break- up descended into such a bitter divorce.”
“They want to keep it to themselves to see how well they’re getting on before making any grand announcements.”
