Amitabh Bachchan’s tests are normal, will go home soon, says doctor
Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan’s test-results are normal and he will be released soon, says doctor.
“Mr. Amitabh Bachchan had a restful night at Lilavati Hospital. The doctors attending on him are pleased with his recovery. The tests do not suggest any abnormality… under the circumstances, medicines have worked. Within few days he will go home,” doctor Narendra Trivedi, VP, Lilavati Hospital, said in a statement here Sunday.
Bachchan, who was in the midst of his 66th birthday celebrations at his bungalow Pratiksha in Juhu, was rushed to the Nanavati Hospital early Saturday afternoon after complaining of abdominal pain and breathlessness.
He was then shifted to the Lilavati Hospital where he continued to be under observation. Bachchan was being treated in suite number 1101 on the 11th floor of the hospital.
The megastar had undergone blood investigation and CT of the abdomen.
His wife Jaya, daughter Shweta Nanda, son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya were attending on the senior Bachchan in the hospital.
Other than close family friends Reliance ADAG head Anil Ambani and Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh, Priya Dutt and Tinu Anand were among the large number of people who visited the hospital to enquire after Bachchan’s health.
Hrithik Roshan’s miraculous recovery
Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan has hurt his knees once again, this time while doing a dangerous car stunt for home production Kites in Las Vegas. Though doctors advised him eight weeks rest, the brawny actor was about and running just three days after the accident.
“I hurt myself while jumping from a car. It looked really bad. The doctor said my knee would require eight weeks of healing. He said I’d be limping on crutches for at least two weeks,” Hrithik said.
A source said: “All hell broke loose and there was panic. Hrithik was in considerable pain and unable to move. And since there was just a few days’ shooting left director Anurag Basu wondered what to do.”
The accident would have put Kites and Hrithik’s career behind with damaging consequences. In fact, papa Rakesh Roshan was adamant that they’d rather wrap up and lose out on the schedule than risk Hrithik’s knee further.
But three days after the injury Hrithik had a miraculous recovery. “I don’t know how it happened. On the third day after the accident I was running on my injured knee. So it’s all fine,” said Hrithik.
That’s what the adamant dancing-star says. But the recurring problem with his knee refuses to go away.
Hrithik’s knee trouble began when he did some daring stunts in Krrish and Dhoom 2. Hrithik had torn the ligament in his right knee and continued working despite the tremendous pain. In fact, he completed the painstaking training, travelling and shooting required for Jodhaa-Akbar with a bad knee.
In December 2007, after wrapping up Jodhaa-Akbar, he went to Singapore for six weeks treatment.
Commenting upon his knee problem and the recent accident, the source said: “It’s a fact that Hrithik’s knee is a cause for great concern for him and for his entire family. The doctors told him that he would never dance again.
“After his second son was born (May 1), Hrithik went for surgery to the US and spent nearly two months recovering. He was determined to let it heal properly because Kites requires considerable athletic movement. Hrithik didn’t take one wrong step until he left to shoot Kites in the US.”
One hopes time would heal Hrithik completely, but it seems unlikely.

Britney, K-Fed exchanging raunchy texts
Britney Spears and Kevin Federline, who split after a bitter divorce last year, have been exchanging late-night steamy texts, it has emerged.
According to sources, Federline and Spears have had marathon phone sex sessions and traded steamy texts.
The singer’s ex-beau revealed to his friends that their calls got intimate and he felt like he was with a new girl all together, the source said.
“The calls got very steamy pretty quickly. It was like having a new girlfriend,” News of the World quoted Kevin as telling his buddies.
Fearing that they might prompt a massive scandal surrounding their rekindled spark, the couple have been keeping their revived interest to themselves.
A pal said: “It’s early days, but there is certainly still something between them. “It’s obviously rekindled that old desire between them.
“They’ve been talking dirty over the phone and about how much they’d loved each other and how it all went wrong. They now speak at least every other day and Brit makes excuses to call Kevin, saying it’s about the boys.”
“He thinks she is getting back to her old self. But they’re worried what it must look like after their break- up descended into such a bitter divorce.”

Film projects worth Rs 100 cr riding on Big B
MUMBAI: Film projects worth at least Rs 100 crore are riding on megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who was admitted to a hospital here after he complained of severe abdominal pain.
Bachchan, who was admitted to Lilavati hospital in suburban Bandra on Saturday on his 66th birthday, would be under observation for another 48-72 hours.
Megastar’s son Abhishek had said on Saturday that his father was responding well to medication.
Bollywood was stunned to hear of Bachchan’s sudden illness, who was shooting for Leena Yadav’s ‘Teen Patti’, a Rs 25-25 crore film, at different locations in Mumbai till Friday.
Bachchan has completed shooting for Sujoy Ghosh’s ‘Aladdin’, a Rs 35 crore film starring Ritiesh Deshmukh, Sanjay Dutt in which he plays the role of a genie.
The actor was also shooting recently for Sujit Sarkar’s ‘Shoebite’, which has a budget of Rs 20 crore.
Besides, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Chenab Gandhi’ and Chandraprakash Dwivedi’s ‘Kunal’ were to go on floors soon.
Trade sources said Bachchan’s illness would affect shooting schedules of these films.
Trade analyst Amod Mehra said that more than a monetary loss, Bachchan’s illness is a major setback to the industry as “he is an institute…. a living legend”.
The industry prays for his speedy recovery, he said.
Bachchan underwent blood investigation and a CT scan of the abdomen on Saturday, reports of which are expected by this afternoon, a spokesperson for the actor said.
Big B was also scheduled to participate in ‘Live Earth’ concert in December in Mumbai to create awareness about global warming and climate change.
Bachchan, who had last posted comments on his blog on October 9, was eagerly looking forward to spending his birthday with his grandchildren who had come from Delhi.
Now Shah Rukh Khan will make a superhero film
By Suresh J, Mumbai, Oct 12: After Rakesh Roshan and Goldie Behl, it’s Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s turn to make a superhero movie, which is titled Ra.1.
The computer savvy Shah Rukh has come up with this unique title for the hi-tech sci-fi film, which Anubhav Sinha will be directing.
Though Sinha refused to comment on the project, a source said: “In fact, Shah Rukh is taking very keen interest in the scripting of ‘Ra.1′. And the director Anubhav Sinha would like Shah Rukh to be credited as a screenwriter for the project, if and when his production house Red Chillies actually sets down to making this ambitious sci-fi thriller.”
Currently, the actor is busy with the shooting of “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi”.

New York, Oct 12: Supermodel Christie Brinkley’s ex-husband Peter Cook denies that he was a womaniser or a sex-crazed pervert as reported by the media.
Cook, an architect, revealed all this on Barbara Walters’ TV show “20/20″. He said that he is just portrayed that way in the media, reports tmz.com. He also went on to clarify that he was not interested in money in the divorce trial with his wife Brinkley. He referred to his bad reputation as an “elephant in the room”.
Cook says he just wants his children to know him for who he really is.
There have been reports that Cook is immersed in pornography and that he had a sexual relationship with his 18-year-old assistant Diana Bianchi.
The pair’s divorce became official in October this year.
Malaysian state’s award to SRK stirs controversy
Kuala Lumpur: Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan has been conferred with a traditional title equivalent to that of a knighthood by a Malaysian state for promoting it through his films, a move denounced by opposition lawmakers and public who said the priority should be given to local artists.
42-year-old Khan was given the Governors award which carries the title Datuk – equivalent to British knighthood – for promoting the southern Malacca state through his movies.
The actor was among several others who to get the award on the occasion of 70th birth anniversary of Malaccas head of state Mohd Khalil Yaakob.
However, both opposition politicians and commoners strongly objected to the state governments decision and raised questions over Khans assistance to promoting Malacca, The Star daily reported.
According to the newspaper, opposition leader and DAP party advisor Lim Kit Siang said he was not against deserving people being awarded the Datukship but priority should be given to local artists.
“If Shahrukh Khan deserved the award, then so should Hollywood stars Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta-Jones who shot a movie against the backdrop of the Twin Towers in 1999,” Siang said.
A business woman Fatimah Tahir was quoted as saying “I thought the award is given to those who have contributed towards Malaccas development. I wonder whether Shahrukh Khan even knows where Malacca is.”
However, Malacca Chief Minister Mohammad Ali Rustam defended the move saying the Bollywood actor has helped in promoting the state through his movies and song sequences.
Ali said, “it would have cost millions to promote Malacca through advertisements, but instead Shahrukh has brought it to the attention of the world through his movies,” The Straits Times reported.
He said there were six movies of Khan in which the various songs and scenes depicted several sites in Malacca. One of his movies One 2 Ka 4 was shot at popular resort here in 2001.
Malaysia, home to millions of ethnic Indians, of late has become a popular destination for Hindi film producers to shoot their movies in its picturesque locations.
Bollywood actors are very popular among the masses in the country.
Big B stable, tests normal: Lilavati doctors
Mumbai, October 12: Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, who is undergoing treatment for abdominal pain at Lilavati hospital, is in a stable condition and the tests conducted on him do not suggest any abnormality, doctors attending on him said.Bachchan on Saturday underwent a blood investigation and CT scan of the abdomen.
“Amitabh Bachchan had a restful night and doctors attending on him are pleased with his recovery. The tests do not suggest any abnormality. Under the circumstances medicines have worked and within a few days he should go home,” Dr Narendra Trivedi, Vice President of Lilavati hospital said.
Earlier in the morning, the actor’s son Abhishek came to the hospital and was informed by a team of doctors about the line of treatment and the medication being given to his ailing father.
Vidya Balan overcomes her fear of driving
But Vishal Bharadwaj is a man who takes no excuses. For his next production Ishqiya , being directed by his assistant Abhishek Choubey, Vidya is required to drive a car and Vishal made sure that she learnt it well.
Vidya took driving lessons from an instructor in Chembur. She reportedly learnt to drive her own two cars — Innova and Mercedes.
It took a good number of days for Vidya to learn the skill but today she is happy to have overcome her fears.
Vidya says earlier she would be petrified at the thought of driving. She wouldn’t even look out the window when her driver used to drive through busy roads. But now she is no longer a chicken at the steering wheel and she thanks Vishal for it.

The celebration was studded with the presence of people from the film fraternity and important personalities in their entirety.

Malik eyeing to romance Sayali in a Bollywood film
Karachi, Oct 4 (PTI) Pakistan skipper Shoaib Malik might well be seen romancing actress Sayali Bhagat on screen after the all-rounder revealed that he was seriously contemplating to act in a Bollywood film starring the former Miss India. According to “The Jang” newspaper, Malik said he was thinking about accepting the offer since his role in the film was of a cricketer and not of a hero.
“It is a meaty role and the offer they have made is very handsome so I am giving it a serious thought. But obviously lot of things remain to be sorted before I sign the contract,” Malik said.
Malik, however, dispelled the impression that because of his friendship with Sayali he was concentrating more on a career in Bollywood than his cricket.
“Cricket is my bread and butter and passion. I am totally focused on cricket and want to taste more success,” he said.
The film to be directed by Wilson Louis is a love story between a cricketer and a model and will have both Malik and Sayali playing themselves.
Media reports suggest that Malik and Sayali have been romantically linked for quite sometime.
However, Malik made it clear that while he had been seeing Sayali for the last six months they were just good friends and not involved with each other romatically.
Malik recently also took part in a shoot for another bollywood film, “Victory” in South Africa with some of his teammates.
